Almost all houses I know of are wood frame construction. What do they use in your neck of the woods?

Various builders have tried to interest buyers in timber frame design but without any great success. Building is a very conservative trade and house buyers are the same. Timber isn’t trusted because it rots and burns. Timber frames are more likely to be used for one-off houses than large developments

Ireland, but the same applies in many parts of Europe.
I guess you’d be more likely to use timber in a dry climate.
I was in SW America some years ago and was surprised to see quite large commercial and retail properties being built out of timber panels.

Typically in the US, or at least from what I’ve seen here in NC, houses are mostly wood-framed and commercial buildings are metal-frame. Even a “brick” house, starts out wood-framed and then surrounded by brick.

Pretty much what trmoore09 said: almost everything I’ve seen for house construction is wood frame with a brick facia (if any brick at all).
